How to Find Happiness

How to Find Happiness Right Now, This morning, I received an email asking me how to find happiness. I don't usually write about this topic; however, I know a lot about it because I've taken myself from a miserable, often depressed person to a goliath of positive feelings--so much so that I coach others for a living. In fact, curing my ennui was my initial reason for studying so much self-help literature. That being said, let's learn how to find happiness.

There are several ways to find happiness in your life. However, I'd like to focus on just a few: mood manipulation, finding yourself, and finding true love.

First, mood manipulation. Studying NLP for a few years has given me the magical ability to change my mood at will. I call it magic because for the most part it is. In fact, it's really this simple: any experience you've had, you can re-experience just by running through the kinesthetic features in order. I know that sounds odd and complicated at first; however, it's really not and it works amazingly well. Here's an example: when I feel happy, the feeling starts in my chest and circles clockwise and gets bigger and bigger while traveling up progressively causing me to smile bigger and brighter. Knowing that, when I feel angry, which works in almost the opposite way, I stop that process and make myself act as if I were happy (re-firing the feelings of happiness described above), and it make me happy.

Next, many people are miserable because they're not living the lives they want. In fact, they're living a life they greatly dislike. And then, they wonder why they're restless, depressed, and angry... So, if this is the case, then the best way to find happiness is to figure out who you truly are and what you really want in life. Many people tell me that they have no idea who they are or what they want; however, I've yet to find someone saying this who isn't holding something back because it's \"a stupid idea\" or \"something that could never work\" or something that makes them fear something like shunning from family members. It's rather sad, but many of these people have a ton of beliefs and emotions that says, \"I must not live the life that I really want because... \"

The last thing in my list of how to find happiness is finding true love. I leave this to the end because it's so easy to get wrapped up in yourself when looking for a lover and completely miss out on them or the beauty of a relationship. Fortunately, this reaction to love generally comes out of self-loathing or desperation, which are easy to cure. To do this, I recommend checking out the law of attraction. To attract a soulmate, all you'd need to do is clarify what you want in this person. Who are they? Once you know that, then you need to dedicate yourself to finding people like them.

You know what you're looking for, and you should assume you're going to find it or better. As you make this dedication, you must work on the blocks (all the negative stuff in your mind that tells you you can't have this person or don't deserve them). This is the most helpful and the hardest part of the law of attraction. After this step, then you need to work on imagining having this love as if it were really a part of your life. Once you can do these three things, then you'll see a massive change in your love life--and your happiness!
